Year 3
We welcome the children to start their junior learning experience! Our aim is for all children to settle quickly, make new friends and enjoy all the new experiences that we have to offer.
Over the next half term, Year 3 have started a 6-week unit on ‘Shake It’. The children will be learning about solids, liquids and gases and irreversible and reversible changes. Our next topic will be ‘Island Life’.
English
In English this term, we are reading Krindlekrax by Philip Ridley. Using the story as inspiration, we will be writing non-chronological reports about crocodiles, creating narratives and writing a magazine article. We will be continuing our work on subordinating conjunctions and introducing speech into our writing.
Maths
In Maths this term, we will be continuing to develop our understanding of multiplication and division. We will also be learning about length and perimeter, fractions and mass and capacity.
Science
In Science this term, we are exploring the properties milk and learning how to change its state using different processes such as filtering, whisking or mixing. We will also be investigating which substances dissolve in milk.
