Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Special educational provision is an educational provision that is additional to, or different from, that made generally for others of the same age.

This means provision goes beyond the differentiated approach and learning arrangements normally provided as part of high quality, personalised teaching.  Where a special educational need is identified, we aim to put evidence-based interventions in place as quickly as possible.  These are provided as part of a graduated response which includes regular reviews of the progress made, with adaptations then being made to the support provided as required.

Our SENCo is Mrs Stef Rebbeck and she can be contacted at senco@holland.surrey.sch.uk

Emotional Support

We have two Key Workers in our school who have had special training from educational psychologists to support the emotional development of children in school.

They are able to help children learn to understand their emotions and respect the feelings of those around them. They provide time and space for pupils to think about their personal circumstances and how they manage them as well as providing a friendly face to “check in” with when they need a little extra advice or support.
